Swimming For Stress

by Dara
(Houston)

Whenever I get stressed out, I do laps in the pool. Swimming for stress relief is the perfect way to cope in the heat of Houston.

After a hard day of massaging clients, I go home and relax before dinner in the pool. Sometimes, after dinner, too. The exercise is great. The water cools and soothes my overused muscles, which can get very sore when I have scheduled too many massages in one day.

It is good to get in the pool alone where I can mentally review my day and think about what I accomplished, what went wrong, what went right and what my plans are for the rest of the week. It is also good to think about long term plans, such as my budget for my business, my family, and my life.

When swimming for stress relief, thinking and alone time clear the worries on my mind, causing my muscles to loosen. I relax knowing that I have a plan.
