Swe-Thai Massage
Swe-Thai massage -- what is it? It is a series of techniques from traditional Thai massage and Swedish massage that lowers wear, tear, and stress on the massage therapist's body.
The client receives a very effective treatment of Thai style stretches and Swedish and other massage techniques.
Clients love it and say it quickly reduces pain. It is so effective on clients because two treatments are combined during the same massage session. First, soft tissue is treated using Thai-style biomechanical techniques.
Then acupressure points all over the body are treated. Yoga-type stretching lengthens the muscles , which makes the client more flexible. Muscles relax. Joints move easier.
Swe-Thai massage was developed by an American massage therapist named Margie Meshew. She traveled to Thailand to learn traditional Thai massage 14 times, starting in 1995. While there, she noticed that Thai massage therapists do many more massages in a week than American massage therapists.
Also, since she has been going over for such a long time, she noticed that the therapists who were growing older were still doing a lot of massages. But why?
Thai massage body mechanics are different than those we use with Swedish massage. They are easier on the therapist, yet powerful to the recipient.
She began combining Thai massage with Swedish massage and discovered that her own body felt better than when she performed Swedish massage alone. What a bonus!
The clients were more relaxed and flexible. They experienced relief from pain.

They offer a schedule of workshops, several instructional videos, and a home study course. The workshop schedule has been updated to include some 2008 dates around the country.
