Impromptu Portable Chair Massage

Impromptu portable chair massage happens more frequently than you would think. As soon as people at church, work, your child's school, or anywhere else that you frequent know that you are a massage therapist, they will start asking what can be done about this ache or that pain.

You can treat this in one of two ways. You can just say that you would be happy to help during a massage session and tell the person to call and schedule an appointment as you pull out your business card. Sometimes you will have to say this, such as when you are in church or at a meeting. If you are watching your child in a school play, obviously your child comes first!

There will be times, however, when you have the time to briefly demonstrate your skills and help the person with a specific problem. Hopefully, this will help you to get a new client or two if you are trying to build your practice. If others are around this could be great publicity for you. Your new client will tell everyone there how much better he/she feels and the others will start taking your new skills seriously.

I have some friends who would not let me practice on them while I was in massage school. After I got my license, I offered them complimentary massage sessions several times and they would always say no. They had no confidence in my abilities as a massage therapist since they knew me before I became a therapist.

Then, one day at a social function, someone asked me to help with a pain and I did. After that, I was taken a bit more seriously and got to massage some of those friends for cash!

It is always smart to be ready to perform massage by carrying a portable massage chair in your vehicle as it will come in handy. If not, you can always set up some sort of seat for the imporomptu portable chair massages you will no doubt perform.
