Pennsylvania May Require A License For Massage Therapists

by Chris
(Philadelphia)

Soon, Pennsylvania may require a license for massage therapists. Today, June 12, 2008, a bill was approved requiring PA massage therapists to have 600 hours of school and 24 CEU hours every two years in order to obtain and keep a license to be a massage therapist in Pennsylvania. Lawmakers have been trying to do this for 15 years. I think it is a mistake. Government has too much control in everyone's lives now as it is. People say it is to protect the clients and the massage therapists, but it is just to make more money off of the citizens. Just another business expense where the government gets to collect from honest taxpayers and business owners.

Next the bill will go to the House Appropriations Committee.

Hopefully it will die there.....
