My Own Website

Hi! I'm Juanita, a licensed massage therapist in Texas. I have my own website about massage therapy and a part-time massage therapy practice. I use both table and chair in my practice, helping people relax and feel better. It is very rewarding! My practice consists of outcalls to people's homes and businesses.

Becoming A Massage Therapist

You also have to have a lot of time to practice the clinical portion, which means actually massaging family and friends. Over and over and over until you have graduated. They will get tired of it after a while as they do have lives! It did not take long for my family to hide when I got home from school. They loved having a full-body massage as I learned more and more but when I had to practice just a portion many times for a test, and they could not move from my table, they got bored.

Once I finished and got my school certification, I felt wonderful inside. When my instructor gave me my final grades, I was elated--on cloud nine for days!

Four months later, I had to take the Texas State Board Exam. Many more hours of studying and practicing went on during those four months. Then two long weeks of waiting to find out whether or not I passed. I did! I am proud to say that I am now a Licensed Massage Therapist!

Building My Own Website

I really wanted a way that I could earn money from home. Yes, massage therapy can be done at home but it takes a few years to build up a fulltime practice with a good, solid income. But then while reading a book on working from home, I ran across information about a company called Site Build It! I could not find anything negative about SBI on the internet.

I had never thought about having my own website before. So I gave it a lot of consideration. Why should I build a website? How would it benefit me? Could I even do it?

After much research, I decided the answer was yes. With all of the tools SBI provides, even a computer novice like me could build a respectable website.

So I started building. It is much easier than I thought it would be. My traffic is steadily picking up and I am learning a great deal about elements of massage through research for the site.

Building my website will eventually enable me to quit my insurance job. No more getting up at 4:30am. No more clocking in at work by 6am. No more missing my children in the morning. I will have time to make them breakfast before school and I will be able to have that second cup of coffee instead of rushing off into the darkness at 5:30am.

I will have the freedom to work from home. I will be able to help out at school with special events. I won't have to worry about getting time off from work for parent-teacher conferences. I will be able to vacation with my family in the summer and take a laptop with me.

I will finally be able to work around my family's schedule. As the traffic to my site grows, I can already see this happening and I cannot wait! Because the internet never shuts down, my website makes money 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year!

Putting this website together has been an adventure for me and it can be one for you, too. Then, like me, you can tell people, "I have my own website."
