My Massage Therapy Career Start

(New York)
My massage therapy career started because my mom had a lot of back pain, especially when I was a child. As a teenager, I would rub her back multiple times per week. She used to ask me to punch it with her fist (percussion movements).
I was happy to help relieve her pain and decided I would like to help others as well. After junior college, I looked into going to massage school. I enrolled and began building a practice, specializing in back pain relief.
My massage therapy career has been so rewarding. I love to alleviate the awful pain they are in. They are amazed that instead of having to have surgery, massage therapy works (in most cases.)
My practice has grown mainly by word of mouth referrals from happy clients who do not have to go under the knife or take a lot of drugs to get relief from their pain.
I also show my clients stretches and exercises they can do in between sessions.
Thanks, Mom, for realizing that I have a caring touch and for getting me interested in helping others with a rewarding massage therapy career.
