Medical Massage Therapy

I deal with health insurance companies, especially worker's comp. Worker's comp is more likely to pay for medical massage therapy than other types of health insurance. With worker's comp claims, a physician has referred the client to the massage therapist so it is guaranteed to be paid as long as you are a recognized provider of massage therapy.
The massage therapy must be medically necessary and should speed the healing process so the client can get back to work as soon as possible.
Some regular health insurance plans pay for medical massage therapy but most have regulations like it must be done in a physician's or a chiropractor's office. Federal plans do not recognize it at all now. They used to. So if a client has federal health insurance, I have them pay up front as I know their plan will not pay.
