Massage Therapy Technique Challenging

Setting the mood of an outcall for a massage therapy technique in someone's home is a bit difficult.

First of all, you have no control over the volume of the TV, kids, phone calls, and barking dogs. You do not know what room you will be placed in for the massage. Sometimes it is a private bedroom and sometimes it is the living room with the whole family gawking and talking to the client.

They may not want you to burn an aromatherapy candle or play your relaxing massage CD's. They may have had something for dinner with a strong smell that is still in the air, or worse, maybe they burned the popcorn in the microwave. They make smoke in the house.

You must take all of this into consideration when doing outcalls. Outcalls are for the convenience of the client and may be the only way a busy parent can get a massage. So you may have to put up with a crying baby or some fighting children.

Chances are that a massage in the midst of noise and confusion will not be very relaxing to the client. You may want to ask the client about setting the mood of the home more to your liking but at the same time you do not want to offend the client. Your goal is to help the client and get repeat bookings.
