Massage Therapy Principles And Practice

Massage Therapy Principles and Practice by Susan G. Salvo is the textbook used by my massage school in 2004.

We used the first edition of this fabulous textbook. Prior to my class, the school used two textbooks. One was on massage techniques and the other was on anatomy and physiology.

But Ms. Salvo combines the two and gives so much more throughout the book. There are articles in each chapter about famous people in massage therapy and related fields. There are sample tests and worksheets. Sample forms are included as well.

Now the second edition is out and it comes with a CD-ROM about anatomy and physiology that I wish I had when I was in massage school.

This textbook covers it all--long chapters on anatomy and physiology detailing each individual body system. The muscle section is excellent and has great illustrations.

There are a lot of good photos throughout each chapter and lots of helpful illustrations, too. The book includes an extensive glossary.

This is the only textbook you need. It includes a business section for your business needs. The hydrotherapy section discusses thirty different spa treatments. It also includes a complete chapter on chair massage.
