Massage Therapy Outcalls
Massage therapists who practice outside of the office make massage therapy outcalls.
They are the equivalent of a doctor making a housecall. We go to people's homes, work, hotels, etc.....
In order to do that, you will need good equipment--a table and/or chair with a travelcase, preferably with wheels, a reliable vehicle, and a good portable CD player.
Let me give you a few examples of massage therapy outcalls so you will have an idea of what they can be like. All names have been changed to protect clients and no specific locations have been listed.
Some of my favorite outcalls have been to
conventions
because there are so many different types of people from different parts of the country. They can make convention massage life very interesting.
At some of the more
posh hotels,
you can make friends with the concierge and get called in when the hotel's guests ask for a massage.
Of course, giving massages at a
local sporting event
are fun, especially if you have friends or relatives participating.
Sometimes, it is interesting to spend part of a day in
a hair salon,
massaging clients who are waiting for their stylist.
How about massaging patients before they are seen by their dentist
in a dental office?
Yes, you read that correctly--a dental office.

massage parties.

the workplace.
You may want to consider offering your services as a
massage therapist for an entire company's employees
once or twice a week, depending on how many employees there are.
Hospital based massage
is beginning to spread across the country, although very slowly.
Of course, the most frequent massage therapy outcall made is
the housecall.
Most clients want you to bring your massage table for housecalls but chairs can be acceptable for certain types of housecalls, such as massage parties.
