Massage Therapy Job Listings

Massage therapy job listings that are not in spas are few and far between.

Some job notices will not any that you solicit. You will receive them in your mailbox.

Apparently, the state licensing boards give or sell the names of all licensed massage therapists to different companies. These companies, in turn, send you postcards and letters, brochures, and other advertisements, letting you know when they have job openings and equipment for sale.

I get unsolicited postcards and letters weekly. Some are to let me know of new massage franchises opening in the area. They say they want me to apply to work for them at their new locations in and around my area.

Others are from spas, telling me that they need more massage therapists to cover all of the new clients they are receiving.

As I have said before, if you need immediate income, go ahead and apply. Just understand that the money you make will be little and you will work long, hard hours, many times with no breaks between clients. I have done this and it is miserable.

Again, beware of spa and franchise jobs. Some may take care of their employees, but most demand too much work for too little compensation. Nights and weekends are when they will need you the most, right when you can spend time with your family.

Another source of massage therapy job listings is your student bulletin board at your massage school. Some schools have job placement offices to help you find a job. Opening your own practice is the best way to start your new career.

True, clients are usually few and far between in the beginning, but your income will grow as you gain more and more clients by performing your best work on each client who climbs into your chair or on your table. Their word of mouth advertising will work wonders towards building your practice.

It is possible for you to get so busy that you will have to advertise your own massage therapy job listings so that you can hire help for your practice. If so, remember to treat your employees or contract workers fairly. This, in turn, will help them to be loyal to you.
