Medical Sanitary Wipes For Killing Germs In Massage Therapy

Killing germs in massage therapy is very important for both the massage client and the massage therapist. The use of medical sanitary wipes makes this convenient when the massage therapist is out of the office. A canister of these wipes is a great tool to have.

In the photo above, I am demonstrating how to clean a massage chair face cradle with sanitary medical wipes. This needs to be done after each client.

Sanitation is the best way to prevent germs from spreading in massage therapy. The massage chair should be wiped down after each use with a germ-killing disposable wipe wherever skin has touched it to prevent the spread of germs from client to client. Our clients trust us to keep them from getting germs from other clients, just like they trust their medical doctors and dentists for the same.

There are some wonderful disposable anti-microbial wipes on the market for this purpose. Baby wipes are not good enough as they will not kill germs. Medical wipes are best. They are made to kill disease-causing organisms like staph, streptococci, HIV, cold viruses, influenza, and tuberculosis.

Also, the therapist should cleanse his or her hands after each client. Since a sink and soap are not readily available during most chair massage sessions, the therapist should use the wipes to clean his or her hands or use an alcohol-based liquid cleaner.

In the photo below, I have just put on a new face cradle cover to protect the vinyl from makeup and grease from the client's skin and also for the client's comfort. Without a face cradle cover, the skin would begin to stick and feel uncomfortable.

A new disposable cover needs to be placed on the headrest with each client. The headrest cover can be a fancy fitted headrest or it can be as simple as a paper towel split up the middle, as long as it is clean and covers the vinyl. Not only will it be more sanitary but it will be more comfortable on the client's face than the bare vinyl.
