Four Hand Massage

One of the latest trends in massage therapy is four hand massage. This is growing in spas and in private practice, too.

Imagine the ultimate in relaxation and enjoyment. Not one, but two therapists working on you at once. Aaaaaaah!

To pull it off, you will need a good partner, someone who is willing to work as part of a team and someone who has impeccable timing. At times during the massage, you will work in unison, performing the same strokes on opposite sides of the client's body.

At other times, one of you may be doing deep tissue, while the other therapist performs relaxing strokes or gives you a hot stone massage. Or one therapist can work on the top of the body while the other therapist works on the legs and feet.

The clients who have this massage love the way it feels to have two therapists working on them at once. It is especially great for someone who is stressed out. It allows the client greater relaxation, taking the his/her mind completely off of the pain and problems of real life.

vProfessional athletes gain great benefits from four hand massage as well. They believe their injuries heal faster with this type of massage. They also feel that soreness from working out goes away quicker when two therapists work on them at the same time.

A typical massage session using two therapists usually lasts from 40 to 90 minutes. The cost is normally between $120 and $180.

This type of massage is suitable for a massage table and not a massage chair. It really feels incredible. I have had this type of work and there are so many wonderful sensations going on at once that it is hard to keep track of who is doing what. Best thing is to just close your eyes and enjoy it!

In addition to Swedish massage, other bodywork can be incorporated into the session, like hot stone massage, reiki, a bodyscrub, paraffin wax treatments, or acupressure.
