Colorado Massage Therapy News

The latest Colorado massage therapy news is that in May of 2008 a bill for state registration of massage therapists has passed the state legislature and has been sent to the governor for a signature. Lawmakers have been trying to pass a law requiring massage therapy licensing. So far, they have been unsuccessful, but massage registration is close to licensing.
Colorado is a big tourist state with a ton of visitors in summer and in winter. Massage therapists make a ton of money at ski resorts and near lakes and other tourist spots. Anyone, whether a real massage therapist or not, can show up in one of the tourist towns, claiming to be a massage therapist and clean up big. Therefore, I feel that state licensing will be a plus for the real massage therapists here in Colorado.
