Cheap Massage Chairs
Are you looking to find some cheap massage chairs? If you are on a tight budget (and who isn't with gas prices at $4 a gallon!) but you want to try chair massage, there are some good ones available that won't break the bank.
First, you can buy a used chair. If you are still a massage student, check with your school. They may have some older chairs for sale if they recently purchased new ones.
Other students and therapists may have ads on the school bulletin board. When I was in school, we had a bulletin board like this. It was filled with ads to buy massage chairs and tables from former students who were upgrading. They were usually in good condition and were fairly inexpensive.
If you want to buy a used chair, inspect it first. Do not take anyone's word for it. Go and see it. Fold it and unfold it. Inspect the vinyl for tears. Make sure the chair is sturdy and it does not wobble. Make sure it is light and easy to carry.
If you would like to buy a new chair, consider buying one from a giant club store such as Sam's or Costco. I bought my first chair from Sam's. I ordered it online as none of the Sam's near me had them in stock. It took only 3 days for it to arrive and with shipping, it was only about $300. This chair has adjustable parts and is lightweight metal. It came with a carrying case that has wheels on it. I still have it and it is in great working order.
You can also look online for discounted massage equipment. Keep checking various massage supply companies to see if there are sales for cheap massage chairs. Check the massage therapy magazines for ads as well.
You want a lightweight metal chair that folds easily for quick and easy transport. The seat, headrest, and armrest should adjust for the comfort of your clients. A carrying case to protect the chair is necessary to keep the vinyl from getting damaged. If you can find one with wheels, even better!
