Certification For Massage Therapy

Let's talk about certification for massage therapy. This is what massage students need in order to test to become licensed (if required in your state.)

Certification is what the school gives the student once all classes, finals, and intern massages have been completed.

Once all of this is complete, the school will give you forms--forms that the school has filled out and forms for the student to fill out. The forms the school fills out state that you have been certified as you have completed all school requirements and that you are ready to be tested by the state for your license.

You must complete your portion of the paperwork and then make copies of everything. Send the originals in to your state department of health with a check to cover the cost of your temporary licensing fee.

Three to six weeks after mailing in your certification papers, you will receive your temporary license, along with an application to take the state exams for your permanent license, along with what to study and practice.

For more information on choosing a massage school and getting your massage certification and licensing, check out the helpful information at the Massage School and Certification Guide.
