The Benefits Of Seated Chair Massage

The benefits of seated chair massage are many, but so are the benefits of table massage.

Table massage or chair massage? What a great question! Personally, I prefer to receive table massage as it feels so fantastic, especially when my back is being massaged.

They can both be used by a massage therapist depending on the circumstances and the needs of the client. Some massage therapists use just one or the other in their business. There are advantages and disadvantages to both so we will take some time and sort it out for you.

Chair massage is great almost anywhere. The chair is portable so it can actually go where you work or shop. This makes it so convenient. Talk about the benefits of seated chair massage! Next time at work, instead of taking a coffee break, take a chair massage break. Your body will thank you!

Chair massage can be performed without a massage chair so there does not have to be a big investment of $300-$400 upfront.

A massage chair is light-weight and easy to carry and can be set up without the need for privacy in places such as a waiting room, hair salon, workout room, sporting event, etc.

Chair massage attracts a lot of people who would normally not consider massage because they can stay clothed. This makes clients feel safe and in control. It is one of the biggest benefits of seated chair massage.

Chair massage routines are quick and inexpensive, lasting about 15 minutes and costing about $15.

It is easier for some clients to get on the massage chair than to climb up on a massage table.

Stretching is more easily done in a chair to loosen constricted tissue in the chest, neck and shoulders.

One of the benefits of seated chair massage is that the client is sitting up. Sitting up makes it easier to breathe, especially if the client suffers from a sinus condition. Lying on a massage table, especially when on the stomach (prone position), can lead to a clogged nose if the client remains in that position for too long.

Table massage versus chair massage, what will it be? More information....

The biggest disadvantage of chair massage is that it is difficult to get to some muscles through layers of clothing.

The abdomen, tops of the arms, and legs and feet do not normally get the benefit of massage in a seated position.

The massage table is great if you want a leisurely full-body massage. It is easy for the therapist to work on most muscles since there are no bulky layers of clothing to work through.

Some clients, such as children and the elderly, will need a stool to get on the massage table.

Some massage tables have side extensions for larger clients so they can feel safe lying on the usually narrow table.

So, have you made your mind up yet? Table massage versus chair massage?

The head, face and neck, shoulders, arms and hands, legs and feet, back, and even the abdomen, if the client chooses, all get a fabulous workout in 60 to 90 minutes on the massage table.

Many clients find table massage completely relaxing and they fall asleep, especially when their back is being massaged.

Make an appointment soon for a table massage and have a chair massage at the mall today and then let us know which you prefer!
